1. Domain Name (eg: www.yourcompany.com)

The web address is also called URL or Domain Name, is the address people type to see your website. eg: www.google.com This web address is required to be purchased separately. A ‘.com’ domain name costs less than $10/yr.

2. Web Hosting

A web designer creates the pages which are the part of your website, but in order to display them, they should be hosted somewhere live on a server. And this is known as web hosting. This service is also required to bring your website alive and required to be purchased separately. I will tell you the best place to purchase below.

When your website is ready, the files are stored on server (web host) and then connected to a domain name (www.yourcompany.com) and only after this people can type the website address in their web browsers to visit your website.

1. How much can I expect from the website you are going to design for me?
I will design a 3-page website for you. You will get:

  • A professional look or feel.
  • Three Pages – i. The Home page displays your products, services and offers  ii. About Page – Gives details about business owner, business and it’s history.  iii. Contact Page – Displays contact details, contact form & google map of your shop
  • Plus, a few minor adjustments, if you need like social media buttons,etc.

2. Why are you designing my website for free?
There are 2 reasons by the way:

  • First, I want offline businesses to get an online presence. There are many shops in your area, but you must not be knowing everyone, as they don’t have a website. Google will not be able to find them for you, although they may be providing a service that you are looking after.
  • Second, I am investing in my future clients. If you get more clients due to the website I will make for you, then in future, if you wish to increase more features on your website then, who are going to approach? Off course me (I assume), because I did a work which benefits you.

5. What is the cost for domain and hosting?
 A ‘.com’ domain name costs less than $10/yr. But, if you want to spend even less money a ‘.info’ domain will cost you $2.99/yr only. But, I would suggest to give first preference to .com, as it’s easily remembered by people. Web Hosting costs vary to a large extent with monthly or yearly subscription.
